Wie kann ich die Erfassung einer SQLPlus-exit-code in ein shell-Skript aus?

Ich habe eine KornShell (ksh) script, dass die logins in SQL*Plus und ein Skript ausführt. Innerhalb der shell-Skript würde ich gerne erfassen, den status-code der SQL-Anweisung, die ausgeführt wurde. Derzeit gibt es eine Fehlermeldung mit SQL und ich bin nicht in der Lage, es zu erfassen, indem die überprüfung $?.
Wie würde ich erfassen die success-oder error-code aus dem sql-statement und übergibt es an das shell-Skript.
